Why Are We Called ‘Bison’ Osteo?

I’ve been asked several hundred times, and it’s a great question…

Isaiah ‘Bison’ Young

The nickname ‘Bison’ came from two of my basketball coaches in 2008.
Verbatim, this was their reasoning:

‘Would have been late 2008 I reckon, you were just a bloody brute and built like a bison so we rolled with it… didn’t think it would stick for 15+ years.’

However, over time this name took on a new meaning and this has translated into part of why I named the business ‘Bison Osteo’.

Bison can weigh up to 430kg-1000kg, are able to run up to 55km/hour, can jump and turn almost as quickly as deer can, while also being able to swim with ease. Despite their size, they are extremely athletic, strong and durable…

Athletic. Strong. Durable.

These qualities are things we associate with the ‘fittest’ and ‘healthiest’ humans, yet they are remarkably simple characteristics to possess given discipline and commitment.

The goal of ‘Bison Osteo’ is to empower and encourage people to become the most athletic, strong and durable versions of themselves, simply for the purpose of ‘feeling better’ and ‘moving for longer’, to help unlock the the quality of life you want and deserve.

However to be clear - I do not perform osteopathy on bisons, nor are there any bison for you to pat and play with at our sessions.

My apologies.
